BOTSWANA . THE REAL AFRICA?

Mood status: Amazed
Location: Elephant Sands, Botswana

So crazy right now, wish you were all here! Just hours ago we arrived at the second camping site in Botswana – Elephant Sands. And as I’m sitting here typing this up, there’s a heard of elephants, some 15-20 of them, drinking out of a watering hole only 20 metres in front of me! Three baby ones have ventured down here as well and they’re adorable beyond words.

The past two days have been grueling on the road as we’re slowly – and I mean sloooowly - make our way up to Zambia (I have a feeling Botswana might not have a lot going for it?). Our truck even broke down today in the middle of the highway which in hindsight, was probably the most exciting thing that’s happened since the last post.

Some thought it was a fantastic opportunity to sunbake, which I found so endearing. I mean, the sun was beating down hard, we honestly had no idea how to get the truck moving again and help was about 2 hours away. There were even murmurs about having to set up camp on the side of the road, where we would have sizzled on the hot gravel, or at the very least cooked in our tent ovens.

There’s not much to tell you guys seeing as we’ve been confined to the safari truck for most of the past 2 days. Our next major stop will be Livingstone in Zambia when the fun begins so I’ll check in with you guys then!

Happy Father’s Day daddy, miss you.
